Jaffna's
new Anglican Archdeacon
The Bishop of Colombo, The Rt. Rev. Duleep de Chickera has appointed the Rev. Selliah Phillip Nesakumar as the Archdeacon of Jaffna. Jaffna born Fr. Nesakumar product of Jaffna Central is a church communique said. He had his theological training at the Theological College of Lanka,
Pilimatalawa, where he obtained his B.Th (Serampore). He was made a Deacon
in 1987 and a Priest in 1988. Since his Ordination, he has worked in
various parts of the Diocese. His early years in the Ordained Ministry
were spent in the Archdeaconary of Nuwara Eliya. Since 1991, he has worked
in Jaffna offering a Pastoral responsibility by the parishes and schools
in most difficult times. He also served as Area Dean of Jaffna. |
