A key figure in the ceasefire process, retired Norwegian Army General
Trond Furuhovde, who will lead the ceasefire monitoring body, arrived in
Colombo yesterday morning and immediately went into conference with Prime
Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
LTTE political team visit Jaffna

In the first major LTTE presence in Jaffna in years, a delegation of
seven Tiger political organisers visited the city last Wednesday, and were
given a reception by the security forces command.
Tyronne calls for anti-terror action
Foreign Minister Tyronne Fernando urged the Commonwealth
meeting in Brisbane, Australia, yesterday to adopt extra measures to deal
with the problem of terrorism. The Foreign Minister was making his address
to Commonwealth sessions in which he briefed the gathering of leaders from
54 nations on the on-going peace process in Sri Lanka.
