Certificates to record number of students
The Awards Day of the Gateway Kids School of Computing was held at the BMICH recently. Minister of Human Resources Development, Education and Cultural Affairs Dr. Karunasena Kodituwakku was the chief guest while the guest of honour was Nalin Ladduwahetty, Chairman, Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd.
This year, the number of students receiving level certificates reached a record 2317. With the worldwide partnership Gateway has with NCC Education UK, the curriculum and course material were recently upgraded putting the experiences of both organisations together, Dr. H. K. Alles, Director Gateway Kids School of Computing said. In Sri Lanka, Gateway has increased the branch network to 14 and caters to a student population of over 12,000. In Bangladesh, the first overseas country where Gateway's programme was introduced, the third branch will soon be opened in Chittagong. Last year Gateway signed up with NCC Education UK, to take the children's IT training programme worldwide.
