Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Alhaj A.H.M. Azwer has appealed to the Director of pensions to advance the December payment to 3rd day of the month due to the Ramazan festival which falls on December 6. The scheduled date of payment is December 12. However, this early payment would help the Muslim pensioners to celebrate the festival without difficulties, Mr. Azwer says.

This appeal was made subsequent to a request made by the Organisation of Underpaid Retired Teachers (Puttalam branch) to Minister Azwer.
