Christmas on Wings 2002 'Christmas on Wings 2002', an evening of Christmas music, song, drama and dance presented by the SriLankan Airlines staff and their families on Sunday, December 15 at 6.00 p.m. at the Elphinstone Theatre in Maradana. This seasonal concert is open to the public free of charge and is being presented for the 19th consecutive year. The chief guest will be SriLankan Airlines Chairman Daya Pelpola while the officiating priest will be the Rev. Fr. Tony Martyn. The programme includes the SriLankan Airlines choir trained by Kuveni Wijeratne, a beautiful Christmas cantata entitled "A song was born at Christmas" by Tom Fettke, "What does Christmas mean?" a playlet directed by Felix Premawardhana, special dance sequences choreographed by Yoshita Abeysekera and congregational carols in all three languages. A parallel social service project undertaken by the SriLankan Airlines staff for the past 19 years is collecting funds from the company staff and sharing them with less privileged children and the aged during Christmas time. In keeping with the spirit of Christmas, this year too, SriLankan Airlines staff will share the joys and blessings of Christmas, entertaining and helping a Children's Home in Negombo. |
