Energizer invests Rs. 200 million to modernize plant

Energizer Lanka Limited, manufacturer and distributor of Energizer and Eveready batteries in Sri Lanka opened its modernised production plant recently. It would enable Energizer Lanka Ltd. to manufacture the new metal jacked Eveready red battery.

The new plant at Ekala, Ja-Ela was opened by Jeffrey Lunstead, US Ambassador for Sri Lanka, and David White, Vice President, Energizer Asia Pacific, on recently.

The conversion of the plant from paper jacket to metal jacket production capability follows the increase in consumer demand for the latter with long-lasting power. The company began production of Eveready paper jacket batteries in 1969 and has been the leading manufacturer and distributor of dry cell batteries in the country to date.

Eveready batteries have been marketed for well over 40 years and have been a household name in its category. Being the market leader in the portable power sector, Energizer offers a full line of products in six major categories - Alkaline, Caroon Zinc, Miniature, Photo, Rechargeable batteries and Lighting products.
