Glasgow estate awarded ISO and HACCP Glasgow Estate, Agarapatana ("Agra Ouvah") owned by Agarapatana Plantations Ltd., managed by Lankem Tea & Rubber Plantations (Pvt) Ltd, pursued a program of "Quality Management Systems" based on the Internationally recognised standard and obtained its ISO 9002: 1994 certification in 2002. To further upgrade its tea processing centre to the latest ISO 9001:2000 and additionally with HACCP: 2002 certification, intensive training programmes were done with the assistance of M/s. Praguna Management Consultants. This was followed with audits undertaken by M/s. BVQI, concurrently. M/s. Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bureau Veritas, a France based multinational organisation operating in 140 countries. B.V.Q.I. is one of the leading certification bodies for management systems of quality, environment, occupational health safety and food safety. The assignment & procedure enforced at the Glasgow Processing Centre, ensured the maintenance of hygienic conditions, in an around the factory premises, by the disciplined performance of duty and enhanced overall knowledge of the staff and workers. The Auditors of the B.V.Q.I. taking cognisance of the high level of compliance and the excellent overall performance at the Audit, recommended the issue of Certificates of approval, both in respect of the upgraded version of ISO 9001:2000 and HACCP 2002. |
