Dinesh de Silva increases lead in Observer-Bata All-Island Contest

D. S. Senanayake cricketer Dinesh de Silva who stormed into the lead on coupon No. 4 increased his lead to 202 votes over second placed Peterite cricketer Lahiru Peiris at the end of the fifth week's voting in the All-Island Contest of the Observer-Bata Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year.

Dinesh de Silva had got 286 votes to Peiris' 284. In third place at the moment is Nalanda's Sakura Wijetunga with 280 votes.

There is a new entry into the top ten with Cambrian Amila Sandaruwan leaping into fourth position with 164 votes.

In the Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year Outstation section, Kasun Bodhisha of St. Servatius College, Matara who was third after the vote count on Coupon No. 4, has moved up one place with 76 votes while Isuru Perera who was second last week, has dropped down one place and his third with 61 votes.
