Apply early for US visas

The US Embassy announced last week that prospective travellers should apply early for visas to the US. Applicants are requested to send non-immigrant visa application and interview request forms via fax to the US Consulate, and may expect a response to their interview requests within two business days.

All appointments will be scheduled by fax, reducing the number of personal visits that applicants must make to the US Consulate.

Travellers should begin non-immigrant visa interview and issuance procedures six weeks or more in advance of proposed travel.

For more information about applying for a visa to the US, please see http://usembassy.state.gov/srilanka/wwwhcon.html
