42 future leaders for USA Summit A 42-member delegation from 15 schools left for the USA to participate in the Future World Leaders Summit at the Georgetown University in Washington DC. Sri Lanka was the largest foreign delegation at this summit which concluded yesterday where 470 delegates from 40 countries participated. The summit, organised by Presidential Classroom Inc, the oldest civic education organisation in America, explored international relations, diplomacy and world trade in the backdrop of the American Capital. The Lankan delegation posed for this group picture prior to their departure from Colombo. The delegation comprised Gishan de Silva of St. Joseph's College, Nishu Hasshim of Methodist College, Pesala Karunaratne, Asela Mendis and Achala Rodrigo of Royal College, Udesh Chandran of British School in Colombo, Naveed Carder, Tahnee De Silva, Sunesha Peruma, Krishantha Sivakumar, Rajiv Pushparajah and Lahiru Jayathileke of Stafford International School, Nilangi Kulasinghe, Ridmie Beneragama, Eshara de Silva, Shehara Mendis, Jani Subasinghe and Shanelle De Almeida Guneratne of Ladies College, Richie Koelmeyer, Yanik Tissera, Fadhil Bakir Markar, Nisha Seneviratne, Krishani Balanayagam, Shalini Fernando, Laura Parakrama, Arun Welendawe Premathileke and Arosha Rodrigo from Asian International School, Savithri Udakandage and Tehani Ariyaratne of Bishop's College, Nissansala Munasinghe and Hansika Sooriarachchi of Musaeus College, Nimali Fernando of St. Bridget's Convent, Nimantha Hewagama of Ananda College, Heshan Fernando, Sarrani Arsekularatne, Manu Mudalige, Virajith Hewarachchi, Sanjaya Perera, Dayanitha Perera, and Depa Somesunderam of Colombo International School, Shanika Arsekularatne of Holy Family Convent Bambalapitiya, Gerald De Silva of American National College and Rashmie Rajaratne of Vihara Maha Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Kiribathgoda. |
