The concert which will be held at the Bishop's College Auditorium will feature besides the bands that play at the GOH and leading singers of today, four solo pianists well-known in the music scene - Nihal Corea, Tamara Ruberu, Luke Henricus and Shane Blok. Nihal Corea a seasonal pianist with that individualistic style entertains music lovers on Mondays and Fridays at the lobby of the GOH from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and then moves over to the Harbour Room to delight the lunch time guests from 12.30 p.m. to 3.00 p.m. with his package of lilting tunes that range from semi-classics, to evergreens, ballads, swing favourites, pop hits, baila and he is inundated with requests which helps him gather more fans. A self-taught pianist, Nihal's lyrical style weaves colourful lines and experience in assessing the listener's mood is a plus for him - the platform for his popularity, and the reason for playing at many private weddings and functions.
When on a Sunday evening you want to enjoy pure piano artistry in a light vein, be sure to catch Tamara at the Harbour Room from 7 p.m. onwards with her wide repertoire of evergreens, semi classics, jazz, swing and the many pop hits of today. |
