Rid Tiger proxies by ballot
TULF leader and lead candidate of the Democratic Tamil National Alliance
(DTNA) for the Jaffna Municipal Council V. Anandasangaree in his
campaign trail in Jaffna said that the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) -
the LTTE proxies should be got rid of by the ballot similar to how the
ruthless LTTE was got rid of by bullets.

Benefits for over 50,000 private sector workers
Over 50,000 workers in the labour force in the
private sector, who lost employment due to the prevailing global
economic crisis will be paid financial benefits by the Government
under a special ‘Unemployment Benefit Insurance Scheme’ on a
directive by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

A gang of eight in motor cycles snatching gold chains from women was taken into custody by Wellawa Police. According to Police, the gang had been operating in several villages in the Kurunegala district and had robbed gold chains over Rs. 500,000.
