Plantation wage increase issue:
UNP, TUs take undue advantage- CWC President
The UNP and certain Trade Unions were trying to
take undue advantage over the plantation wage increase issue, said
CWC President and Deputy Minister of Nation Building and Estate

Sri Lanka to raise post-conflict issues at HRC
Sri Lanka will discuss the Government’s plans in
the post conflict scenario and the controversial Channel 4 issue at
the UN Human Rights Council (HRC) which commences tomorrow in
Geneva. This is the first session that Sri Lanka is taking part in
after eradicating LTTE terrorism.

All set for SPC election
All arrangements have been made for the Southern
Provincial Council (SPC) election. There are 1,761,859 registered
voters in the 21 electorates (761,815 - Galle district, 578,858 -
Matara district and 421,186 in the Hambantota district). Additional
Elections Commissioner Sumanasiri Weerasinghe told the Sunday
Observer.
