Air Force to assist in repairing damaged houses

The Air Force will take steps to repair and reconstruct houses that were damaged during the aircraft crash at Hokandara in Athurugiriya. “This will be done through the Directorate of Civil Engineering within the next few days,” said Air Force spokesman Wing Commander Gihan Seneviratne.

 

Boy dies in tractor mishap

A four-year-old boy who was travelling in the lap of a youth who drove a land master tractor fell to his death in Urigama, Anamduwa this morning, the police said.

 

Man hacked to death in Keselwatta

Keselwatta Police is after three suspects who are alleged to have hacked a 37-year-old man to death on Old Moore Street last night, the police said. The victim identified as Mohamed Hasan Mohamed Jesmy was found severely hacked and left on the road, by a group of residents who rushed him to National Hospital Colombo.

STF finds arms cache, Fonsekas posters at temple
