Kavitha talent program to display inborn talent
The Higher Education Ministry has introduced an innovative reality
show, "Kavitha talent program" for university students and those in
Advanced Technological Institutes who seek opportunities to display
their inborn talents in various artistic fields.
At present, the university students and those in Advanced
Technological Institutes don't have adequate opportunities to develop or
display their creative talents.
Therefore the Ministry on a directive from Higher Education Minister
S.B. Dissanayake will introduce the reality show to fulfil this
long-felt need Higher Education Ministry Secretary Dr. Sunil Jayantha
Nawaratne told the Sunday Observer yesterday.
Accordingly the university students and their counterparts in the
Advanced Technological Institutes who are gifted with various innovative
skills relating to drama, music, writing of novels and short stories,
photography, TV commercials, announcing and poetry should submit their
creations for the competition before November 15, he said.
Dr. Nawaratne said that a variety of events under nine categories
will be included in this program and veteran media personality Prof.
Sunil Ariyaratne has been appointed Program Director.
A coordinator to each university to coordinate the program has also
been appointed. The students who are interested in this program could

The best will be selected for all these nine categories of events.
