Royal, STC declared joint champs at 17th Battle of the Blues hockey

Royal College and S. Thomas’ College ML were declared joint champs when the 17th Battle of the Blues hockey encounter played for the Orville Abeynaike memorial trophy ended in a scoreless draw at the Astro turf yesterday.

Royal won the under 15 match 2-0 with both goals being scored in the second half by Dinal Damisulu.

The Old Boys match saw the Thomians turn tables over Royal to win 3-1.

Pumega Kulatunga, Ravin Gunasekera and Pramoda Nallaperuma scored the goals for the Thomians. Shahid Hussain scored Royal’s solitary goal.
