CDB wins two SLIM Brand Excellence awards

The Citizens Development Business Finance PLC, (CDB) won the Silver in service excellence in the Service Brand of the Year category at the SLIM Brand Excellence awards recently.

CDB also received the Silver award for the CSR Brand of the Year, a company media release said.

Chief Credit Officer Sasindra Munasinghe said, “Our industry is highly competitive and it is one in which a large number of established brands have always been held in high esteem by stakeholders. The fact that CDB, with its history of twenty years in the service industry, encompassing banking, insurance, telecommunication and other service sectors, emerged with two silver awards, is truly a laurel that we are very proud of.”

He said that service is a tenet totally driven by the strong team spirit at CDB. “We surely have one of the best teams in the financial services industry to have gained such an accolade from the country’s apex marketing body.” “The CDB brand has a significant purpose that extends far beyond business: to enrich people’s lives through an extension of financial services and nationally important CSR initiatives,” Munasinghe said.

“We have contributed meaningfully to enhancing the lives of our people in diverse segments, contributing to education, health and the environment. We are most encouraged and heartened by this recognition for our CSR initiatives that are nationally relevant and uplift the community significantly,” he said.

CDB focuses on a vision of being the financial powerhouse that will foster entrepreneurial innovation and workmanship towards building the nation’s economy to make sustained gains in living standards of Sri Lankans, a company spokesman said.
