A.E. Gunesinghe Vidyalaya, Colombo 12 was opened after renovations recently. The opening of the school and welcome ceremony for Grade One students was held under the patronage of Principal of the Vidyalaya R.M.U. Rathnayake. Fifty five girls were admitted to the Grade One class.
Provincial Minister of Education, Culture and Arts, Sports and Youth Affairs and Information Technology, Ranjith Somawansa opened the school. Colombo District Member of Parliament Mujibur Rahuman, Provincial Councillors Mohamed Faiz, Arshad Nizamdeen and M.S.M. Faiross, Zonal Director of Education, Jayantha Wickremenayake, Western Province Education Directors, Al Kafala President U.A. Najeem, school principals, parents and students participated.
