The All- Island Environment Oratorical Contest themed “Green Children”, organised by the Central Environmental Authority of the Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment was held recently. This event was organised in parallel to “Sri Lanka - NEXT – A Blue Green Era” Conference and 5th Asia Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Forum. Similar events on issues of environment are organised annually by the Central Environmental Authority in collaboration with the Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment.
Aadhila Nazeer, Shahala Thareek and Sarah Musab of Hejaaz International School were placed first, second and third respectively at the District Level competition in the English medium of category Grades 10 – 11 from the Colombo District schools. Aadhila Nazeer was selected to compete at the National Level contest due to her outstanding performance.
