Studying literature helps us improve our reading skills and develop a philosophical mind. We can also learn about societies and cultures in different parts of the world. The literary genres are poetry, prose, short stories and drama. Literature conveys experiences, ideas and emotions to the reader or spectator.
Authors and playwrights try to give a moral message to society through their work.
