Martin Wickremasinghe was born in 1890 in Koggala. His first book was a novel called Leela. He wrote many books on different subjects. His most famous novel is Gamperaliya. Madol Duwa and Ape Gama are also his novels which are good for children. I have read these books many times and they are interesting.
Madol Duwa is about two boys named Upali and Jinna who are the heroes in the novel. As young readers, you should read both Madol Duwa and Ape Gama. Martin Wickremasinghe is a good writer who did great service to Sinhala literature. His house in Galle is now a museum. If you go on a trip to Galle, don’t forget to visit this museum.
