Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde will visit Sri Lanka on March 21, official sources said. The local head of IMF is currently in the process of making preparations for her visit.
Sri Lanka went for an Extended Fund Facility of USD 1.5 billion from the IMF mid last year to support the depleting balance of payment. The first tranche was released by the IMF last year.
According to Central Bank data, Sri Lanka’s foreign reserves are expected to record USD 7.4 billion towards the end of this year. (MF)
