CogCom moves to Orion City

12 March, 2017

The Colombo Centre for Cognitive Computing (CogCom) is a technology agnostic developer of Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, focussed on ‘optimising human performance through Smart Machines’.

CogCom is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Volume Ltd, a UK headquartere, global technology and innovation company.

Volume which established its presence in Colombo in April 2011 changed its name in Sri Lanka in 2016 as its leadership in bringing AI-powered solutions to the market grew.

CogCom currently employs 25 Sri Lankan nationals and also offers opportunities for UK staff to work at the Centre. After spending nearly six years at the World Trade Centre in Colombo, the Team is moving to a new state-of-the art facility in the Orion City Technology Park.

Having been a sole technology provider to Volume Ltd, CogCom will open its doors to businesses and public sector organisations in Sri Lanka and the Asia-Pac region.

Partnership and growth is the focus for the business and collaboration with Sri Lankan-based companies is key to driving this strategy.

CogCom will also be working closely with the many high quality IT-focussed universities in the country to help develop AI-focussed curricula and to mentor young and emerging talent.

The executive management team is excited at the opportunities Sri Lanka presents and looks forward to building on its six years of success in the country.
