Health Camp in Sri Pada

The Colombo Central Unit of The St. John’s Ambulance Association and Brigade in Sri Lanka, with the cooperation of teachers attached to the Western Province Education Ministry and nurses of the Accident Service of the Colombo National Hospital held a first aid and medical camp at Gangulatenne, Sri Pada, from February 23 to 26.

A team of 50 first aid volunteers, four medical nurses, four EMT officers, three principals and 10 teachers, as well as the Deputy Director (Primary), Western Provincial Education Ministry, Dushmantha Rajapaksha, participated at the camp.

The team provided medical assistance to a large number of pilgrims, on a 24-hour basis and helped to relieve them of their aches and pains, and minimize accidents during their arduous journey to the sacred mountain.
