Sri Lanka Thriposha Ltd will market the excess production of 900 metric tons of Thriposha under the Suposha label to increase its income and introduce a competitive product to the market.

“The company will market the excess production. The current requirement of the country is 1,800 metric tons while production stands at 2,700 metric tons,” Chairman, Sri Lanka Thriposha Ltd., M.D. Bandusena said.

“With the marketing process, the product will reach children and adults too. We will never sell Thirposha in the open market and neither will there be a shortage of the product at maternity clinics,” he said.

The government has realized that nutrition should be provided at the early childhood stage to make our country a nation rich with nutrition. For many years Sri Lanka Thriposha Ltd supplied Thriposha as an additional food to provide nutrition to the future generation. The free Thriposha program was implemented with the support of funds from the Treasury.

Suposha is a 100 percent natural breakfast meal made from domestically grown maize and soya that fulfills the entire nutrition requirement of growing children.

Suposha is being introduced as a nutritional product that could provide a balanced diet under the supervision of the Ministry of Health.

Under the national program, Thriposha is being distributed to over 1.2 beneficiaries in the country.

Every year, Thriposha program distributes two packets per recipient per month. Suposha consists of 100 percent locally grown maize, soya, corn, non-fat dried milk, minerals and vitamins. Raw material are 100 percent sourced from local farmers on a large scale. - SJ
