The fourth annual cricket encounter between Lumbini College Colombo and Bandaranayake College , Gampaha will take place tomorrow ( March 20 and 21) at the Colts grounds Havelock Park.
Sasiri Adikari will captain Bandaranayake and Thanuka Dabare will lead Lumbini. This match is known as the blue and green contest and is held for the fourth time with Lumbini winning once and the two ending in draws. Both teams have fared well during the season .
Lumbini has played twelve matches for the season and has recorded two out right wins and the rest ending in no decisions while Bandaranayake College in their 13 matches played has won two matches out right and the other matches ending in no decisions.
The Lumbini captain a fifth year coloursman Thanuka Dabare has fared well as an all rounder taking over 50 wickets and scoring over 600 runs . Kaveen Peiris ( 450 runs), Vimuthi Kulatunga over 60 wickets are the other two players who have fared prominently.
For the Gampaha school skipper Sasiri Adikari has been among the runs with an aggregate of over 750 runs with seven half centuries.
The Bandaranayake College strong batting lume up consist of deputy Hachitha Thimal, Sasitha Madanayake, Arosha Madushan, and Bimath Hanchana.
Lumbini College who has won last year will go all out for a repetition, but Bandarnayake , Gampaha is equally determined to come back strongly to win the game.
The limited overs match bwtween the two schools is scheduled for May 6th at the R.Premadasa Stadium.
