Mayhem & dinner service

26 March, 2017

Basil (a soprano shout)... Basil (a second soprano shout)....

That’s the cue for the chaos to commence.

Chaos that will greet guests as soon as they walk through the door. The guests become diners in the ‘Faulty’ restaurant where everything that can go wrong – goes wrong and can be best labelled as organized chaos!

Described as a superb evening of food and comedy, Faulty Towers The Dining Experience will be held at the Maitland State Room of Mount Lavinia Hotel from March 29 to April 2. It is a world that belongs to three conflicting characters. There’s Basil Faulty – snobbish and manic, his domineering wife Sybil and the hopeless, language – challenged waiter, Manuel. If you want an ‘ice bucket’ you can bet your last rupee you will be presented with a ‘nice bucket’. The opening of a bottle of wine can become a huge drama and hopefully through all this mayhem you might get some service.

In this, it’s 20th birthday year of touring, this globetrotting show presented by Interactive Theatre International is now legendary, having performed at sell out shows at Sydney Opera House, Raffles Singapore, London’s West End and also at Fringe Festivals in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Edinburgh. That’s not all.

The Interactive Theatre has made successful appearances in Europe, Scandinavia, Asia and the Caribbean. And now, they make a return to Sri Lanka with their second performance.

Don’t be left out in the cold! Be a guest at the mayhem Faulty Towers and enjoy the lavish food, even if Manual your waiter keeps you waiting, while he goes in search of his pet mouse under the tables of the guests, which results in shrieks from the ladies!!!
