Charles Indika first Lankan to play in Masters Touch rugby

Former Carey College swimmer and cricketer, 31-year-old Charles Indika Atulugama has been selected to represent the Fly Emirates Touch Rugby team at the World Masters 2017 to be held in New Zealand on April 22 to 25 , 2017.

Charles after leaving school joined Malaysian Airlines and played mercantile cricket representing Hemas Holdings and later got the employment opportunity at Emirates Air Lines in Dubai . While continuing his cricket he took up to rugby and developed his skills through hard training which won him a place in the Fly Emirates rugby team. He played in the Phuket 10’s in 2016 as a centre and participated in several other tournaments.

He has been rewarded for his talent and dedication to represent the FLY Emirates Touch rugby team at the 2017 Masters Games in New Zealand.

The opening ceremony will be on April 21 followed by matches being played from 22nd to 25.
