Sri Lanka-Australia fifth U-19 ODI today

23 April, 2017

The fifth and final Under-19 youth one day ‘international’ between Sri Lanka and Australia will be played in Hobart, Tasmania today (23).

The match will carry only an academic interest as Australia Under-19 takes a winning 3-1 lead in the five-match youth series.

Australia Under-19 team won the series with one match to go when they beat the visitors by four wickets in the fourth youth ODI played at the same venue on Friday. The home team also had an easy 102-run victory in the third match of the series played in Tasmania.

Sri Lanka’s only win so far in the series was registered in the second match when they edged out the home team by eight runs to level the series but their joy was short-lived as Australia Under-19 had successive wins in the third and fourth games to take an unassailable 3-1 lead.

Australia also win the opening match of the series by a massive margin of 160 runs after the visitors, chasing a victory target of 266, were bowled out for 105 runs off 33.2 overs.
