Colombo Museum: ‘no litter zone’

30 April, 2017

The National Museum authorities have declared the Museum premises, a polythene and other non-degradable waste-free zone with effect from May 15, as a solution to the garbage disposal issue.

The public who visit the National Museum and the Natural Science Museum, leave behind yoghurt cups, polythene bags, plastic bottles and lunch boxes, which is a serious environmental threat. As a preliminary measure, visitors are requested to take away their waste material.
