BEST BOOK REVIEWS: Hindu mythology

The Mahabharat is my favourite mythological story. It is an epic in Sanskrit written by Muni Vyas. Mahabharat is one of the greatest epics of the world. An epic is a long story written in verse. The theme of Mahabharat is a war between two branches of the tribe, the descendants of Kuru, to capture the government of Hastinapura, which is supposed to be the same place as modern Delhi.

In this epic there are the Pandavas, Kauravas, Bheshma, Karuna, Arjuna and Draupadi. The Mahabharat is accepted as a sacred book of the Hindus. The whole Hindu tradition can be found in the Mahabharat, and on this account it is revered by the Hindus as the fifth Veda.
