Navy to take part in int’l maritime defence exhibition

The Sri Lanka Navy’s Offshore Patrol Vessels, SLNS Sagara and SLNS Nandimithra left for Singapore from the Port of Colombo on Friday, May 5 to take part in the International Maritime Defence Exhibition in Singapore.

Captain Anura Danapala of SLNS Sagara and Captain Nishantha Peiris of SLNS Nandimithra are in command of the ships.

The two ships are due to remain in Singapore from May 12-18 and 290 naval personnel from the Sri Lanka Navy, including 34 officers, will take part in the exhibition.

They will attend several events which include; a warship display, International Maritime Security Conference, International Naval Engineering Conference and Naval Networking Program. The two ships are expected to leave Singapore on May 18.
