Malaysia will host the 2017 Asia Rugby Championship – Division 1 tournament is schedule to start today 14th May , and continue on the 17th and end on 20th May. 2017.

Malaysia as the defending champions will compete with Sri Lanka, Philippines and United Arab Emirates. All the matches will take place at Padang Ipoh, Perak, organized by Malaysia

Rugby in conjunction with Perak State Government. The champions will be elevated to compete in the Asia Rugby Championship – Premier which will enable the winners qualifying to participate at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. The first match of the day is between Philippines and host Malaysia at 2 pm . Referee Lawrence Wilkinson (Hong Kong), At 4 pm Malaysia will meet UAE, Referee - Just Wang (Singapore),

On Wednesday 17th May UAE v Sri Lanka Referee - Charlie Brown .

For the second match of the day Malaysia will take on Philippines - Saturday 20th May Philippines v UAE referee - Lawrence Wilkinson (Hong Kong). For the Malaysia v Sri Lanka match on the same day will be refereed by Taku Otsuki (Japan) ,

Performance reviewer for all matches are Alan Whitcombe (Asia Rugby) & Andrew Tranent (Hong Kong), both have been involved in Asian rugby for some time.
