Malaysia beat Sri Lanka 22-9

Sri Lanka and Malaysia who were engaged in the title decider at the Asia Rugby.

Championship Division I championship and having hopes of qualifying for Rugby World Cup 2019, finally saw Malaysia achieving their target at the final whistle of the deciding game.

Malaysia who were down 5-6 at half time, were able to beat Sri Lanka by 22 points, two goals, one try and a penalty to 9 three penalty. This match was played at Ipoh Padang in Malaysia.

The Malaysian team was full of expatriates and staged a fine second half rally which earned them the top spot in the Asia Division I rugby championship. From the start Sri Lanka kept their hopes alive in dramatic fashion to lead 6-5 at half time, but failed to keep up the same pace in the second half and succumbed to defeat.
