The Commercial Bank conducted a week-long push at nine key branches to promote the use of the Bank’s digital banking platforms such as online banking, mobile banking, e-passbook and automated banking.

The Bank’s ‘Digital BankingWeek’ was launched on June 12 in Wellawatte, Kollupitiya, Bambalapitiya, Dehiwela, Ratmalana, Mount Lavinia, Katubedda, Katubedda Minicom and Moratuwa branches. Promotional units were set up at these branches to help customers experience the digital banking options and to register for them. During the week, staff members enrolled existing customers for these facilities through a special tab based app by entering their details.

This process ensured convienience for customers since they were not required to fill separate forms for the new services. Similar promotions are to be conducted at over 40 branches of the bank in the near future. The Bank said it offered free activation of its digital banking services to customers on the condition that they would be used for at least one financial transaction within the first three months.

The first 10 customers who enrolled for digital banking during the week were also presented with power banks for their mobile phones.
