The Duty Free Trader’s Association felicitated D. Eassuwaren on his being awarded Deshabandu a National Honour. Eassuwaren had done much in the way of social service and multi religious promotional activities; this was in addition to his success in the field of business. His company Eswaran Brothers (Pvt) Ltd being a leader in the export of value added teas worldwide. He was garlanded and received by Christine Fernando a past president of the Association to the strains of magul bera in the presence of a distinguished gathering of leading businessmen.
At this same event the Association remembered and paid tribute to two of their members who passed away recently; Buggy Surtani and Shelton Kakultota. Both these persons were distinguished in their own right, Surtani being a leading distributor of the high end brands of perfumes and cosmetics worldwide and Kakultota being responsible for the duty free imports and Imports Director for Free Lanka Trading.
To the strains of “UNFORGETTABLE” the portraits were then garlanded by Eassuwaren this was followed by the placing of a red rose in a vase beside the portraits, as their personal tribute by all those present including members of their families. Speeches in keeping with the event then took place which was followed by dinner.
