The government of Kuwait has decided to extend financial assistance to Sri Lanka to promote ties between the two countries.
A sum of US$ 34,589 will be given through the World Vision Organization to promote mushroom cultivation in Sri Lanka as well as to provide school bags and stationary to needy children in the North.
Ambassador of the State of Kuwait in Colombo, Khalaf Bu Dhhair, said the government of the State of Kuwait as well as the Kuwait Fund is playing a great role in providing the assistance to Sri Lanka. The government of Kuwait also provided US$ 372,000 to set up a four storied building to East Ceylon Arabic College in Addalichanai
The Ambassador further said the Kuwait Government is willing to assist the people of Sri Lanka as well as the Government in Sri Lanka many different ways in the future as well.
