Silas Marner is written by Mary Ann Evans. Her pen name was George Eliot. She was born in England in 1819. Some of her other books are Adam Bede, The Mill on the Floss and Middlemarch. From the books she wrote Silas Marner is my favourite. It was first published in 1861.

The book is about a weaver named Silas Marner who is falsely accused of something he never did. Silas moved to a new town named Raveloe with a heart full of sadness because his fiancée refused to marry him. Silas Marner recounts the story of how he found a meaningful life in the new town. I like this book very much because even though Silas was falsely accused he never gave up and succeeded at last.
