The 22nd annual Travel Trade Sports Club Badminton Championships 2017, sponsored by Serendib Leisure Hotels for the seventh successive year will be held on Sunday, September 17 20 at the S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia Indoor
Stadium, commencing 9.00 am. Entries have been called from the 160 strong TTSC Membership to be forwarded to the General Secretary, TTSC, Anushka Perera, C/o. Connaissance de Ceylan, ‘Le Cube’, 130 High Level Road, Kirulapane, Colombo 6. Entries should be forwarded to the above address on or before 3.00 pm 14 September.
The tournament will be conducted in 02 categories, the ‘Open’ and the ‘Veterans’ (Men O-40 & Women O-35) on team Championship basis. The ‘Open’ event will consist of – 01 Men’s Single, 01 Mens Double, 01 Women’s Single , 01 Women’s Double and 01 Mixed Double; The ‘Veterans’ Championship consist of 01 Men’s Single, 01 Women’s Single & 01 Mixed Double. In the previous tournament which was held on September 4th 2016 at the same venue, Walkers Tours won the ‘Open’ title beating Cinnamon Grand Colombo ’B’ 3/1 in the Final; the Veterans title was won by SriLankan Airlines, beating Walkers Tours 2/0 in the Final.
This will be the 05th event in the TTSC multi sports events calendar, having completed the Bowling, Archery, Pool & the Futsal (05-a-side) Soccer.
