Thieving domestic arrested
A domestic employed at a house in Attidiya was arrested on Friday on suspicion of making away with jewellery worth Rs. 114, 000 from the house. According to the Police, she had also taken cash worth Rs. 14, 000.
The 57-year-old woman was arrested in Ratamalana, the Police said. Mount Lavinia Police are investigating.
Kerala Ganja peddler nabbed
A suspect has been arrested along with 500 grams of Kerala Ganja in Mawaramandiya, Kadawatha the Police said. Acting on a tip-off received the Police arrested a 35-year-old man who is currently said to be employed as an airman with the Sri Lanka Air Force and a resident of Biyagama.
Pedestrian killed in Udawalawa
A 55-year-old woman was killed in Kolambageara, Udawalawa when attempting to cross the road, the Police said. The woman has been knocked down by a motorcycle travelling towards Embilipitya on Friday night.
The victim had succumbed to her injuries after being admitted to the Embilipitiya Hospital.
