Our annual class trip

24 September, 2017

Normally in our school, we go on trips only as a section, for example, Grade 10 or Grade 11. But during this vacation, my class, Grade 10 E got the rare chance of enjoying a class trip. The trip was organized by our science teacher. I was eagerly waiting for the day to come. We started the journey from our school.

Our first stop was Water World, Kelaniya. There were a lot of things for our eyes to feast on. We saw a lot of fish of different colours, shapes and varieties. There, we had a good chance to widen our knowledge about fish. Then we went to Wetland Park, Beddagana. It was a calm and quiet place, and we had the opportunity to explore rare birds, dragonflies and butterflies in their natural habitat.

After enjoying our lunch at Diyatha Uyana, we reached our last stop, Dehiwala Zoo. Though we weren’t able to visit all the animals, we saw some animals that we could not easily see such as giraffes, tigers and bears. Our return journey was a very enjoyable and an exciting one indeed, as the girls and boys sang songs and danced delightfully. It was a very happy and unforgettable journey for all of us.
