Sri Lanka’s Farook gets honorary membership of ASFF

M. Z Farook who was involved in Schools Football Association and FFSL has been elected as a honorary member of the Asian Schools Football Federation at the General Assembly Meeting held in Shiraz Iran few days back. Farook was once the secretary and advisor of the Sri Lanka Schools Football Association. He was elected for his outstanding service rendered to the ASFF. He is the first Sri Lankan to be elected as a Honorary Member of the ASFF.

He also served as the Deputy General Secretary and Chairman of the Technical Committee of the ASFF for several years and contributed his best

for the development of football. Being the Organizing secretary with Sunil Jayaweera he successfully organised the 22nd Asian Schools Football Championship in Sri Lanka in the year1993. And with the assistance of Trevor Reckerman he was responsible in organsing the MILO Inter School Football Tournament.

He also served as the Assistant Treasurer, Treassurer, Deputy General Secretary and Vice Presidentof the Sri Lanka Football Federation. And also was the tournament director for the the first SAARC Gold Cup Championship in Sri Lanka. Farook served as the Secretary of the Sri Lanka Schools Sports Council.
