J.M Madusanka of Matara MMV clocking a time of 36:58.0 won the third leg of the ‘Nestomalt’ Mini marathon which was concluded yesterday in Matara.
He won the event comfortably with 2 minutes ahead of the second and third competitors Silindu Kumara and Vishva Thranga.
The Mini Marathon for girls was won by R.D. Kalpani (Matara MMV) 43:49.3 sec who clocked 15:56.50 secs. She was almost two minute ahead of the other runners.. Welimada MMV’s G.N.D. Samarakoon (44:33.6 secs.) and M.D. Nayomi Kanchana (48:17.7 secs.) were the runners up.
Rahula College’s school boy S.V.P. Purna Andamith who had a time of 13:16.1 secs. for the Boys 5km event was declared the winner with N.H.Asitha of Devapathiraja MV1(4:08.5 secs.) and K.G. Vishva Pramuditha of Narandeniya National School (14:21.8secs.) placed second and third respectively.
Hasanthi Madumali of Matara, Sujatha Vidyalaya clocked 15;56.50 secs. to win the event while she was followed by Rashmi Praboda Wickramsinghe, (Vishaka MV, Badulla) 16: 16.36secs. and W.M. Shanika of Ananda BMV (17:32.0secs.).
