Thomians down Trinity 2-0 in Hockey

S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia, scored an emphatic 2-0 victory over Trinity College in the Warden Neville de Alwis Memorial Shield under 19 annual hockey match on Friday at Asgiriya Stadium, this was the fourteenth encounter in the series.

The winners played exceptionally well to get the best out of the game despite a strong defence and excellent saves from Trinity College goalkeeper. Both teams enjoyed equal share of ball possession, but the Thomains had better control of the stick to pocket the game in their favour.

Nallaperuma and Dias for scored goals for the winners. The winners played well throughout the game although the Trinitians did well in the first quarter of the game.

In the under 15 game for the B.S.G Sahayam trophy the Trinitians recorded a hard fought 2-0 win The winning goals were scored by Yatawara and Wijethunga.

The Two games were umpired by M. Ashraff, A.B. Godigamuwa, N. Paranidaran and A Manjula.
