The Conga drums are now silent

News came to us of the passing away of percussionist, drummer Clarence Corera in Maryland. In Sri Lanka he was a popular musician ever since his career started off in his teens with the Junior Rhythmaires, a popular dance and concert band then, managed by Marci Perers. Subsequently, Clarence was a familiar figure at the congas with a style all his own which included dance steps to the rhythms which sent the audience into raving appreciation.
