Mövenpick Hotel Colombo was crowned the ‘Leading Business Hotel in Sri Lanka’ at the South Asian Travel Awards 2017, which aims at encouraging and raising customer service standards of the tourism industry within the South Asian region. The ‘Leading Business Hotel’ category included renowned candidates from Sri Lanka, Nepal, India and the Maldives, with Mövenpick Hotel Colombo emerging winner in this segment making it the “Leading Business Hotel 2017” in Sri Lanka.
The panel of judges consisted of high profile senior representatives selected from the South Asian region with a vast knowledge of the hospitality industry. The process was initially open for online voting and thereafter, each nominee was invited to present their respective property. The panelists referred to guest reviews on online major platforms, while evaluating the company profile, media coverage and exposure received during the year. The location, business facilities, proximity to business hubs within the city, meeting and events facilities and amenities for business travellers were also key factors during the evaluation process.
Earlier this year, Mövenpick Hotel Colombo also won two major awards at the World Travel Awards 2017, namely, “Sri Lanka’s Leading Hotel” and “Best Presidential Suite”.
