Awards for Best School Study Circles Contest - 2017

The United Nations Association of Sri Lanka organised its National Observance of the Seventy second United Nations Day in Association with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the United Nations in Sri Lanka at the Bishop's College auditorium, Colombo recently.

The awards were distributed to students who took part in the Best School Study Circles Contest - 2017. The winners are as follows: All-Island Best Speaker Contest - Vidya Nayani Senevirathne, student of Christ Church College, Matale. General Knowledge Contest - Nadun Sasaga Kumarasinghe, Richmond College, Galle, Essay Contest - Kawisha Gayathri Rupasinghe, Holy Family Convent, Marawila, Best Teachers-in-charge - M.N.D. Abeysinghe and R.H. Priyadarshani, Richmond College, Galle and Best Study Circle award - Richmond College, Galle.

The chief guest was Brigadier G.V. Elapata, Guest of Honour Dr. Siran Deraniyagala and the special guest Mujeebur Rahuman MP distributed awards and certificates to the winners.

Students of OKI International School, Colombo University Media Unit and the Colombo Toastmasters Gravel Club presented various cultural events. Principals, teachers and students from the Study Circles were present.
