Our pilgrimage

26 November, 2017

I went on a pilgrimage with my parents and grandparents. We set off from home early in the morning of October 1st. We visited the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. As it was Children’s Day, I received a gift pack from Kandos. In Kandy, we paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic and spent the night in Kandy. The next morning we set off for Anuradhapura and on the way, we bathed in the Kandalama Wewa.

In Anuradhapura, we paid homage to the Sri Maha Bodhiya and Ruwanweli Maha Seya. That night, we had dinner at my aunt’s house in Anuradhapura. The next morning we paid homage to Mirisawetiya Dagaba and started for home. On the way, we bathed in the Kalu Wewa. We visited the Maha Mewna Temple in Polgahawela too and reached home at about 7.00 p.m.
