United Mercury Group seals US$ 1 m deal with NEM

United Mercury Group Lanka (Pvt) Ltd (UMG) sealed a USD 1 million contract for the supply of construction machinery, with NEM Constructions, a main contractor for the Central Expressway Project, recently.

Shantui batching plants, KCP Concrete pumps and Airman Compressors are the main products in this deal. NEM a leading contractor has trusted for their construction machinery of concrete pumps, batching plants and compressors on UMG.

UMG, a conglomerate based in Myanmar operates in eight countries Laos, Indonesia, Cambodia, China, Singapore , Vietnam and Sri Lanka and over 65 branches operate in Myanmar. UMG Lanka Pvt Ltd on the Colombo Avissawella Road, Welivita, Kaduwela established in 2012 is the exclusive sole agents for the Shantui range of construction and earthmoving equipment such as excavators, wheel loaders, bulldozers and asphalt batching plants from China and are also dealers for Airman compressors from Japan and KCP concrete pumps from Korea.

UMG also markets its own brand, Matador excavators, road rollers, motor graders, generators, combined harvesters and tractors.

The presentation of the first concrete pump took place at UMG head office in Kaduwela recently.

NEM Chairman Nanayakkara said, “I personally checked the performance of KCP pump cars in Colombo Mega projects and the Korean origin pumps were key features in the deal and it comes with a Daewoo chassis.” UMG Lanka MD Asiri Walisundara said, “A company such as NEM has confidence in the quality of the products marketed by us.”
