Colombo Masters set to take on Sydney Lions

Colombo Masters Cricket Assocaition (CMCA) over 50 team will take on the Sydney Lions from Australia in a 35 over cricket encounter tomorrow at the P.Sara stadium – Oval, commencing at 10.30am.

The captain of the Royal College cricket team in 1971 Jagath Fernando will grace occasion as the chief guest as well as Ajith Pasqual captain of Sam Lawton in 1973 will be attending to watch his vice captain’s performances.

The CMCA team is back in the island after a very successful tour of Malaysia, where they won all their matches. They are rearing to face the Sydney Lions a team comprising of brilliant cricketers of yester year.

They have toured the country on many occasions and have a great track record in Sri Lanka and its conditions. The CMCA team will be captained by former Royalist Dharsha Abeywardena and the Sydney Lions also by a former Royal cricket captain 1974 Sam Lawton.

This match is sure to bring back many nostalgic memories to all the players, families and friends alike.
